After King Tut's Tomb was opened in 1922, all things, Egyptian, were highly sought after. Egyptian Revival jewelry was particularly popular for many years afterward. This bracelet is from the late 1920s, and a perfect example of why Egyptian Revival defined a large part of the Art Deco period. It appears to be made of brass with fancy filigree square links. Each link has a mounted design...

This guy represents one of the things that we no longer see much - the boy on the corner selling newspapers in all kinds of weather. This one is 2" tall and 1" wide, and is made of gold colored metal. There are rhinestones on his hat, coat and on the newspaper. The rest is red and black enameling. The pin is in good shape for as old as it is, and it is a rare pin also because it represents a previous time and place in our history. It is not marked.

Most of us of a certain age remember these bracelets. They were all the rage in the late 1950s and early 1950s. This one is exceptionally nice, made of silver colored metal, and set with nice clear prong set rhinestones all the way around. It is 1/2" wide and the inside diameter when it is closed is 1 1/2", so it is rather small. It is in excellent condition with no problems and it is not marked.

This is a cute little pin - sort of a Russian gold or bronzed gold color, and made of pierced metal. It is about 1 1/2" in each direction and there is a pattern in the metal. The elephant has a ruby red glass eye and the trunk is up for good luck. The back is brushed metal - none of it is shiny, front or back. It is heavy, in excellent condition, and it is not marked.

love the soft pastel colors of this brooch. It is large - 3 1/4" x 2 1/4". The center consists of sparkling prong set clear rhinestones. The petals of the flower are each a different soft color - pink, blue, lavender, green, rose, and white - very subtle and very lovely. There are two green leaves on the stem. The metal is gold toned. It is in very good condition with no problems and no marks.

Remember the old kids' rhyme, Mary, Mary, quite contrary, etc.? This is a pin depicting that rhyme, I think. It is made of gold toned metal clear rhinestones, and lots of enamel. It measures 2" x 2" and 8s in good condition with some enamel loss such as might be expected from the age of the pin, which I think is about 60 years. It has no marks of origin.

Both for
I was a school teacher for many years - and English literature was my favorite subject to teach - so when this play came up, I wore these pins. The kids loved them. They ae gold toned metal with faceted amethyst glass faces and both are decorated with tiny faux pearls. Juliet measures 1 1/2" x 2" and Romeo is approximately 1 1/2" each way. They are in excellent condition and unmarked.
