This is a deeply carved art deco piece - the bar is 3 1/8" x 7/8". It is good condition except for a slight bend in the pin stem. The color on my monitor is a bit more brown than the actual pin. In some light it looks more neutral and in others brown. I did the bestIcouldwith it, but just couldn't come up with the exact color, close but not exact. It has the old "C" type closure and it is not marked.
This is an old 1930s-1940s bakelite bangle. It is cherry red, slightly domed and 5/8" wide. t is plain - no carving, and one of those bakelite bangles that I love to wear mixed and stacked with other colors. It is in good condition with no problems and no marks.
What a treasure! I have never seen this pin before, and I believe it to be quite rare. It depicts Josephine Baker dancing her famous Banana Dance. The brooch is huge - 5 3/4" x 3". It is made of French Galalith and is all handcarved and painted. It dates back to the 1930s. Josephine is wearing gold jewelry, a necklace, bracelets on both arms and her ankle. The brooch is in fine condition considering the age. Painted details are intact, and the carving is intricate and impressive...
I'm not sure where the terminology came from to call these old necklaces cherry amber since there is no amber present - only bakelite. This one is typical of the necklaces one finds under cherry amber bakelite - a rich red faceted, graduated bead necklace, hand knotted. It is 27" long and has a simple spring ring closure. The largest bead in the center is 10 mm. and the one nearest te=he clasp is 2 mm. They have been simichrome tested and are in beautiful condition with no problems.
This is an unusual brooch and all I can figure out that it might represent is a cowboy and with his hat, and the dangling chaps. However, you may see something totally different. All I know is that the red pin and dangle are bakelite and the black is glass. It is 3" long by 2" wide, and it has an old "c" clasp. The brooch is in good condition, and it is not marked.
This is a small carved dress clip from the 1930s more than likely. It measures approximately 1" x 11/2". It has a molded pattern in front. The clip on the back is solid and tight. The piece is in good condition with no problems, or maker's marks.
This is a really nice old carved red bangle bracelet - 5/8ths on an inch wide and domed. It is in very good condition with a standard 2 1/2" interior diameter so it will fit most people, I think. It is carved all the way around.
This is a nice old green bakelite bangle marbeled with yellow. It is 3/4" wide and domed all the way around. It has a standard 2 1/2" inside diameter. The bracelet is in good condition with no problems and no marks.
I've had this big guy for a lot of years and have enjoyed wearing the pin. t never fails to bring complements. The fish is 3" from the end of his sword to the tip of his tail. The golden colr finssit up 1" atop the body. The bakelite is striated to look like fish scales a there are two rows of clear rhinestones around his neck and the eye is red paint and a little i worn off. Other than that, he is in good shape and unmarked.
This is a plain smooth bakelite bracelet 5/8" wide all the way around. The surface is mottled with a darker color and it is very attractive when worn with several colors of bakelike bangles. It is in good condition with no problems. I do not think it is from the Art Deco Period, but was probably made later perhaps in the 1950s.
This is a nice old orangish yellow bakelite bangle bracelet - the kind that are so much fun to wear in multiples. This one is 3/4" wide and slightly domed. It has a standard interior diameter of 2 1/2", so it will fit most people. It is in excellent condition with no problems, and no marks.
This is an exquisite piece of Art Deco jewelry. The apple juice bakelite pendant is 2 1/2" long by about 2 5/8" wide at the widest part on the bottom. It is backcarved with a striated design, and is set with big sparkling rhinestones - all of which are brilliant and sparkling. The pendant is suspended from a 23" celluloid chain. The chain has no clasp, and is long enough that the necklace would slip over the head. The necklace is in gorgeous condition with no problems, and it is not marked
This is a beautifully detaied elephant brooch, approximately 2" x 2". The metal is sort of aantiqued or dark gold color, and there is a hoodah and driver along with a rider in the hoodah. It is decorated with turquoise colored cabochons, as well as one sapphire blue one in the middle, and faceted lighter blue sparkling rhinestones. The brooch is in excellent condition, with no problems and it is marked which you can see in the picture of the back.
This is a stunning and large old Bakelite piece. It is a well carved horse head with a glass eye and gold toned metal chain halter. The dimensions are approximately 2 1/4" both ways. The carving is deep and well defined and the color is really beautiful. The piece is in excellent condition except for the bent pin stem which you can see in the pictures. I will either straighten that out, or replace it before I send it out to a buyer. It holds now, but would be better straightened...
I'm not wonderful with recognizing birds, but I think this was meant to be a goose. Whatever it is, is is a stunning large brooch. The body is carved bakelite - bright red. The wings are clear lucite with lots of detail. The bird has a white painted eye. The brooch is 3" from beak to tail, and 2 1/2" from wingtip to the bottom of the body. The brooch is in excellent condition back and front, and has no marks
This is a gorgeous old applejuice bakelite bracelet. The three translucent dark orange pieces are all back carved, and as you can see in the pictures the middle piece is really lovely. Has a kind of flower design in it. The two end pieces have smaller carvings and the three pieces are joined by 3 celluloid chains in a lighter yellow color. There is a simple spring ring closure. The bracelet is 1 1/2" wide. It is short, though, only 6 1/2" long so it will not fit a large wrist...
I love this little bakelite bonnet. It is so chic - could be someone's Easter Bonnet! It is a wide brimmed hat done in mottled orange bakelite with a darker crown. There is a black ribbon type band around the crown, and the hate is decorated with different colors of molded glass flowers. It is 2 1/8" in diameter, and it has a riveted "C" type clasp. It is in excellent condition with no problems, and no marks.
